Microsoft heeft introduceerde de nieuwe Surface Laptop 5, een nieuwe versie van de clamshell-laptop van het bedrijf. Het nieuwe apparaat (vergelijkbaar met de ontwerpaanpak voor de Surface Pro 9) behoudt hetzelfde uiterlijk als zijn voorganger, maar met bijgewerkte interne onderdelen en verfijningen.
In deze versie van de laptop blijft het bedrijf twee 3:2 PixelSense-beeldschermformaten, inclusief 13,5-en 15-inch modellen. Deze keer laat het echter de AMD vallen en gebruikt het alleen Intel 12e generatie-processors met het Evo-platform (gunstig voor zakelijke klanten). U kunt de Surface Laptop 5 krijgen met maximaal 1 TB interne opslag en maximaal 32 GB geheugen.
Volgens het bedrijf is de Surface Laptop 5 50 procent krachtiger dan de Laptop 4 en heeft hij tot 18 uur batterijduur voor normaal gebruik.
